How do I get started?

First things first, you’re going to need to know the basics.  We’ve written up quick overviews that cover both Balanced Scorecards and Strategy Maps.

The internet is your friend.  Google everything you don’t understand.  Our Online Resources section is also a great jumping off point.

Once you get your head wrapped around the basic concepts, it’s time to dig a little deeper.  In our Books section we have some great recommendations.  If you have a decent budget for you balanced scorecard roll-out, it may also be a good time to also start looking into a consulting organization to help you build your scorecards.

Finally, after you have your balanced scorecards on paper or in Excel, you can start automating your performance management with real balanced scorecard software.
